When these distinctly dark souls released their second album in 2024, with the programmatic title "Monolith" to a humanity that had once again become overly decadent, their elegiac, engulfing POST-DOOM METAL was met with a multitude of equally intense reactions.

"With 'Spiritualité Sombre', we open a door to a world of shadows, spirituality, and cathartic force. The song unfolds like a ritual—rising slowly, layer by layer, dark and depressing, carried by heavy riffs and deep soundscapes. A harmonious, calm middle section briefly opens up a moment of pause before the piece culminates in a brutal finale that uncompromisingly tears everything down. The video, produced by the band in collaboration with Martine Ludwig and visually realized with camera and editing by Yannick Kohl, translates this essence into powerful, sparsely lit images. Symbolic scenes unfold in the darkness, oscillating between decay and transcendence – a balancing act between despair and elevation. In doing so, we create not just a music video, but an audiovisual experience that draws the listener into the depths of existential emotions. 'Spiritualité Sombre' is a manifesto of modern doom – painful, sublime, and uncompromising."

KRATON return with their brand new single "Spiritualité Sombre", which adds another layer of darkness to the abysmal granite-saw sound of the five-piece band from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Taken from the 2024 album "Monolith", the song was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Tom Gatti and Billy Kaufmann. The visual design is by Damien Giudice.

"'Omega' is less a song than a ritual—seven minutes of dark transcendence. With tectonic patience, the track unfolds and permeates oppressive monotony with persistent hope that prevails despite all the heaviness. Trance-like, clear passages run through gray soundscapes—fragile moments in which something bright shines through. With every breath, a quiet resistance to passing grows, a striving for something that remains. 'Omega' does not explode – it erodes, but what remains is not only emptiness, but also the possibility of a new beginning."

Founded in 2011, KRATON channel raw emotions through a sonic blend of Post, Doom, and Extreme Metal influences. The lyrics deal with the dark aspects of human existence, marked by the constant hardships of (inter)human life. The consistent five-piece has already played with many local and international bands on small and large stages.

The oppressively heavy music of this highly ambitious band explores the darkest corners of human existence and combines a melancholic atmosphere with primal power.

KRATON's second album, "Monolith", released in 2024, is proof of the evolving sound of a truly hungry band – introspective, oppressive, and relentless.

The name KRATON [ˈkʁaːtɔn] comes from geology and describes a large stable part of the continental system at the core of a tectonic plate. It is synonymous with a massive landmass that is very heavy and stable. "Heavy as something really heavy."

"With 'Curse This Mortal Coil', KRATON delves deep into the emotional abyss of existence. The song combines dark soundscapes with personal reflection and processes pain, memory, and the search for meaning in a condensed musical form. The result is a work born of an inner process — raw, honest, immediate. Rooted in Post-Doom and enriched with ambient elements, a soundscape unfolds that is both powerful and vulnerable. The monologue from Shakespeare's Macbeth (Act V, Scene 5), spoken by Brian Stivale, lends the piece theatrical depth — as if the drama of life were reflected in a dark stream of sound. 'Curse This Mortal Coil' is an emotional statement. A wound. An attempt to understand — and let go."
