"'Der Rattenfänger von Hameln' ist nicht nur eine der bekanntesten Sagen der Welt, sondern zudem auch eine sehr düstere Erzählung. Von daher lag es auf der Hand, diese Sage für das neue BILWIS Album zu verarbeiten."
Das Konzept von BILWIS besteht aus alten europäischen Märchen und Mythen, die in ein Gewand aus rauem, aber melodischem und atmosphärischem BLACK METAL mit deutschen Texten gekleidet sind - eine Reise in die Welt der vergessenen Träume, Wölfe, Geister, Zwerge, Meerjungfrauen, Trolle, Elfen, Vampire und Riesen.

Als Multiinstrumentalist und Sänger Bilwis mit dem Songwriting für das neue Album "Hameln" begann, wurde ihm schnell klar, dass er in Sachen Songwriting zur Debüt-EP zurückkehren musste, allerdings mit verbessertem Sound.
Das letzte Album "Pan" endete sehr melodisch und verspielt, während das Konzept des neuen Albums einen dunkleren und bedrückenderen Sound und Songwriting erforderte, um die düsteren Themen, von denen die Texte handeln, auszudrücken.
Musikalisch waren Dissection dem nordrhein-westfälisch Künstler schon immer eine große Inspiration, und auch wenn es nicht immer offensichtlich ist, sind die gelegentlichen Anspielungen auf "The Somberlain" ziemlich unverkennbar.

Um die düsteren Themen der Märchen und Mythen, die auf dem neuen Album erzählt werden, visuell zum Ausdruck zu bringen, insbesondere die des Titelsongs, wurde beschlossen, das Cover-Artwork von dem sehr talentierten deutschen Künstler Julian Bauer gestalten zu lassen, der die Essenz der Musik und der Texte in seinem Bild des "Rattenfängers von Hameln" perfekt eingefangen hat.
