It took a long time, but the moment has finally arrived. In this latest PR collaboration with this outspoken individualist and self-proclaimed escapist, the exquisite musical Black Metal aesthetic is complemented by a mutual, deeply devoted—even spiritually resonant—veneration of nature.

On June 7, the first single "Wanderer in den Schatten", from the new album "Knochenkabinett" was released.



Truly a fascinating one-of-a-kind phenomenon: the initial contact with this current promotional campaign, with its stated objectives, took place several years ago. From the very beginning, WALLFAHRER — as an artistic novelty — presented itself as utterly mysterious, almost fervently anonymous. A symbolically archetypal BLACK METAL conspiracy shrouded in complete seclusion? Exactly that. Anyone who has come to know the band name and its musical principles through in-depth engagement already appreciates this fact.

This was followed by a series of phone calls, each providing an update on the latest developments — some of which took place at unusually long intervals. In 2026, following extensive preparation, everyone will work together to promote the new album. None of the parties involved were in a hurry — after all, the dual focus has always been on genuinely conveying art that is deeply sincere and utterly authentic.

BACKFLASH
The band released their highly acclaimed debut album, "Anthologie der Abkehr", independently in late April 2018, with the creators remaining completely anonymous even when it came to the band's biography. From the very beginning, the musicians deliberately kept their names and backgrounds under wraps so as not to distract from the idea behind the band or its message. Given their musical prowess, music media and genre circles speculated that established musicians were behind the project.

Also self-published, the albums "Rattenritual" (2019) and "Lightbringer-Leidbringer" (2020) followed one year apart. It then took two years for the fourth album, programmatically titled "Den Menschen so fern", to be released in 2022. In the summer of 2023, the first album was re-released on the Schattenpfade label.

In a review of the debut album "Anthologie der Abkehr", an English-speaking reviewer described the band as "relatively close in sound" to Nagelfar. Regarding the sound, he highlighted the "epic atmosphere", noting, however, that at its core lies a "powerful/memorable mid-tempo blackness …".

Elsewhere, Imperium Dekadenz and Vallendusk were cited as influences. Noisenotmusic.com described the release as "classic, atmospheric Black Metal". In his personal year-in-review, an editor at the online music magazine Vampster described the style of the fourth album as "aggressive, atmospheric, melodic Black Metal".
