A SOMBER FUNERAL was founded in late 2023 by Alex and Chris, both members of the band BLACK AEONS.
The German ATMOSPHERIC POST-BLACK METAL duo released their debut album "Summertime Sorrow" in March 2024.

December 27, 2024 is the official release date of the new composition "Celestial Child" - the new song didn’t fit thematically into the concept of the upcoming album, which is currently being recorded. For this reason, the duo decided to release it as a standalone-single.
A SOMBER FUNERAL:
"This song is dedicated to a mother (name unknown) who lost her child two weeks before birth. I met her during my vacation in the summer of 2013."
