German artist Michael "Mike" Schindler and his own `factory of arts` Dragon Design are responsible for much real amazing and breath taking Metal-album front covers so far. After ordinary school, Mike went to a graphic designer-school in Munich (Germany) where he also had the idea to get involved in drawings for bands, maybe labels, etc. for the first time. But he weren't taught too much in using the Airbrush, it was more for getting some technical knowledge for him. He always looks for a possibility to draw things in a way, like he admired on his first records he has listened to as Iron Maiden, Rainbow, Mercyful Fate etc. Some of his better known works are front-covers for acts as Dispatched, Isegrim, Violation, Soul Demise, Mystic Circle, Graveworm, Wizard, Black Abyss, Morifade, Steel Warrior, Thornclad, Thrudvangar & Nomans Land among many others. |
